About this event

Daniel Kress will reflect on his 2015 Thesis “Passive House for Perth Western Australia” and what he has learned from reading and building Passive Houses in hot climates.

Is overheating an issue for Passive Houses and is the hot climate really suitable for the Passive House approach?

Daniel started his career as a certified carpenter in Germany and then worked in Ireland on the biggest residential modular project in the world at that time. After ten years in the building game, he started his studies in civil engineering and worked as a researcher for the European Union in sustainable building. He finished his German and Canadian master’s degrees with the Thesis: “Passive House design for Perth, Western Australia”. Since 2015 Daniel is working in the Australian Building Industry following his mission to build healthier and comfortable homes.
